Hello friends my name is Sohan and I love to travel in my spare time. I will share with you experience of my recent trip to Ottawa the capital of Canada. Rohit is my best friend and both of us have a common passion for traveling. We have traveled almost whole North India. Rohit worked as a professor in a college in South Delhi and his college is closed as of summer vacations. Since I got a leave from work and Rohit had his college vacations so we decided to go to the Canada. Also as we had learnt from our recent experience so this time we had planned everything in advance about our every day schedule. It was hot summer in Delhi in the month of May when we took a plane to Ottawa from IGI airport New Delhi. As flight was in the morning and when we reached Ottawa international airport we felt tired as it took almost fifteen hours of journey from New Delhi to Canada. Upon reaching the hotel we took a rest for about half an hour and after that we started for the list of destinations that we have prepared.
Parliament Hill
Since historic Parliament Hill is at the top of our list so we decided to go there first. Many tourists come to simply wonder at the mysterious architecture from the outside. Public can walk on the grounds and even can get a glimpse inside the buildings with guided tours. Parliament Hill is absolutely the best place to spend vacations of Canada Day. It doesn’t really bother what is the best time of year you decide to visit the Hill with activity.
The canal
After spending a good two hours there we took a light rail to reach Rideau Canal which is another “must see” for tourists of Ottawa. During this unique winter carnival, one can skate on the canal as well as look at the ice sculptures made by artists all around the world. From the canal we hire a taxi to the downtown Ottawa in the evening and had our dinner at a hotel in McLeod Street. The owner of the hotel was a very nice person and guided us about some other must see locations there. At 11:30 PM we reached at our hotel Indigo near National Arts Gallery. Next day when Rohit woke up and told me that after visiting to the museums we should go to the Art Gallery which is near to our hotel. I also agreed and we called for a cab service to show us the museums of the Ottawa. At that day we started from National museum , we reached there at 10:30 AM. Museum exhibits Canada's 20, 000 years of history, wonderful architecture. From there we went to the see the Aviation Museum .
Our cab driver told us that Canadian War Museum is opened until 8 PM , so decided to visit that museum too. The Canadian War Museum is another amazing architectural wonder, housing artifacts from wars in which Canadians were involved , this all affected the country in some way. Then we traveled some distance from the Parliament Buildings towards the museum houses which is very much inspiring. It is opened in 2005. The museum is very much closer to proximity to the National War Memorial and is the place for many rememberable places.

Next morning after having our breakfast in the hotel we went to the National Art Gallery , which is near to the hotel. A wonderful building which is made of granite and glass, located in the heart of city. sculptures, drawings, Paintings and photographs is not only the Canadian artists but all artists from all over the world, only the walls of gallery. Then we went to the By ward Market, is the oldest market in Canada. By ward Market was founded in 1826 by Lieutenant-Colonel By. We did some shopping there and enjoyed pasta in a Italian cafe. Although our flight is scheduled in the early morning at 5:30 AM , still we decided to see the tulip festival as it was the month of May. When we asked about the essence of the festival on local lady told us that festival stems from WW-II. Then we went to the famous festival, which was full of joy and happiness. WE enjoyed a lot there. It was a refreshing visit to the festival.

We hire a cab from the hotel in early morning and reached the airport at exact time of our flight 5:30 AM. At 10’O clock we reached New Delhi. It was my one of the best refreshing overseas tour and both of us enjoyed to the full extent.
